MGM is not totally in control here.....they are at the mercy of the NHL right now. They need a MAJOR tenant.

To understand what MGM is doing, you need to understand the BIGGER picture.
NHL owners are cheap...they want all the owners to be cheap. No major advantages. Especially for someone new.

Society is always looking for new and better things....that's a given.

In order to keep people coming, Vegas has to keep evolving (especially the strip).

Downtown is booming because the strip is expensive....it costs loads of dollar bills to evolve!!!

I know a lot of public company executives. Most of them really really like their perks...to the point of detriment to shareholders (obviously when you consider what a perk is). I don't see the golf course getting sold anytime soon. The Wynn golf course is different since Steve Wynn, the decision maker, doesn't golf anymore.

Non of the high executives at MGM bought a single unit at city center, while encouraging players and lower executives to do so...

The franchise owners are not the problem....yet.

AEG owns 50 percent of the T-Mobile arena. AEG owns 50 percent of another NHL hockey team and arena. Conflict???

A giant mess happened in Arizona a few years back with another team. Uncertain ownership, arena contracts. There were bailouts.

    The similarities are uncanny....

It's not going to happen again, without assurances from....you guessed it....MGM.
