The 'What are you drinking' thread got me thinking...

I see threads for wine, drinks, cars, gaming, all of my habits except for one: cigars.

Does anyone else here smoke cigars? I am particularly a fan in vegas... something about a cigar first thing in the morning walking the strip before it gets too out of control.

RIght now I am not in vegas, and am smoking a lovely Rocky Patel Vintage 1990.

    What is everyone else smoking?

I smoke maybe 1 or 2 a year so I'm far from an expert, but usually I stick with an opus x, greycliff professionale (blue label) not sure they even still make those, or Perdomo Edicion de Silvio

But always a natural wrapper, had a maduro once and felt like shit afterwards

I hate the things. I'm sticking to cigarettes. However, I am taking a cigar lover with me on the next trip. Are there any cigar bars worth visiting?

There is a decent cigar bar at the forum shops at caesars (Casa Fuente?), but I like the outdoor space of Rhumbar at the Mirage.

You could definitely get into 8 kinds of trouble for that. Don't do it.

The landscape re: Cuba is definitely changing in the US but AFAIK you can't legally import Cuban cigars.

    Casa Fuente is pretty cool.

You can legally visit Cuba now as well as bring Cuban cigars back with you (I forget how many). That said its probably still illegal to import them through most methods / not sure how anyone could differentiate between ones legally brought in from Cuba vs imported illegally from Canada/Mexico/etc

    Cool! Didn't know that.

The pertinent point for Canadians (and Americans thinking of bringing Cuban cigars in from Canada) is:

"Purchasing Cuban-origin cigars and/or Cuban-origin rum or other Cuban-origin alcohol over the internet or while in a third country (i.e. not Cuba) remains prohibited."

There is a new Davidoff cigar bar and outdoor patio in front of Fashion Show Mall (across from Wynn). I can't wait to try it. Casa Fuente in the Forum Shoppes is also amazing with great drinks.
