The old lady is heading to Chi-town on Sunday morning. She'll be there for a conference until Tuesday evening.

She needs some restaurant advice. Here's what she sent:

Essentially she needs to know which one is the better option and she doesn't want to die getting there. They're a party of four.

Or, if there's a better option on the list... that would be even better.

Don't everyone rush to answer at the same time. I'm taking notes here.

Where is she staying? Will help to narrow the choices if she wants somewhere close to her hotel.

Merchandise Mart. That's where she'll be. But she said she'll cab anywhere.

Avec and Girl and the Goat would be two that I would hit.

I like Siena Tavern, RPM Italian is a similar alternative. If looking for steak, Chicago Cut, Prime & Provisions or Bavette's Bar & Boeuf. Shaw's Crab House for seafood (Nick's Fishmarket is good, it's located in the Merchandise Mart). Sunda for Asain. P I zz A - I'm a Geno's East fan - deep dish - everything else is just a snack. And in the morning tell her to walk over to the Doughnut Vault for some of the best doughnuts she will ever eat. The bar at Travelle in The Langham Hotel has a great craft cocktail menu or Three Dots and a Dash for all things tiki drinks.

If none of those tickle her fancy, let me know and I'll come up with a few more.

Girl and the Goat is very popular, hard to get a last minute reservation, maybe not too bad for a Sunday or Monday night, but if she's interested in going there, try to make the reservation now.

She chose the Kitchen. She said she doesn't have time even on Sunday to try three others.

But, she's very interested in the donuts and the tiki drinks.

Donut vault get there early or wait in the obnoxious line. Easy walk from merchandise mart, gotta go out the back side on Kinzie, not front of hotel.
