Saw an ad / news piece tonight theyre the latest to the money grab, wanting to give us an exceptional parking experience....
Just another way for MNC's to get your $50 fleeced from you before ever setting foot in your room (which you still have to pay for).
Was only a matter of time.

Absolutely, then closely followed by Cosmo. No one will be left out of the gravy train. How long until downtown joins the fold?

It's free income with a captive audience that doesn't have much of a choice for parking options. Those people that stated that they would boycott hotels that charged for parking were fooling themselves

That didn't take long. Just as with resort fees, they'll all just say "we had to do it to compete!". Your choice is....pay it or don't have a car in Vegas. I do think the Vegas rental car industry may get hurt by this though. For those getting cheaper rental cars, the parking fees may come close to or even exceed the rental cost, which most people at that end of the spectrum aren't going to put up with.

about it. At least until the end of the year, self parking is still free, but valet has a charge. They plan to nail everyone, including self-parkers, in early 2017.

I really don't care as my players card will be good for free parking everywhere. Just a problem if you don't gamble and the fee matters for your budget.

This applies to me as well, and probably to most of those on this board. It's still not right though, and will affect the vast majority Vegas visitors. I've never paid a resort fee (or a room charge In the last ~15 years for that matter), but I still hate the idea of it and think it's bad for Vegas overall.

On that highlighted portion, maybe we should wait to see what happens, Carnac? There hasn't been a change in Vegas over the past 50 years that wasn't called out as the death knell, and yet the numbers go up and up and up.

I didn't say it would be the death knell. I said it would affect the lower end of the rental car market in Vegas. If I'm Carnac because I understand basic economics, that magic box you typed this reply on must seem like pure wizardry.

The fee can be waived by a) spending money at the resort (i.e. room, restaurants) b) gambling or c) getting their FREE credit card.

I am genuinely baffled about the outburst. If the above doesn't work, don't drive a car, it is really that simple.
