the other problem with losing that kind of money at a local is that you do not get any comp value out of the loss

Is Horseshoe a Total Rewards property? He might get something out of it if so (but not much, since Caesars much prefers machine players).

Anyway personally I don't go to locals very often...you can smell the desperation of most of the people in there for miles and it's usually a negative experience all-around. I had a casino host tell me once that he liked working in Vegas because they could "import the money and export the problems" associated with gambling, vs local casinos that just want to suck the local population dry and let the taxpayers deal with the fallout from resulting increases in crime, divorce, bankruptcy, and poverty.

like what? does Total rewards let you take expensive wine home to make up for the theo (or loss) that you have no comps against? one dinner does not come close to covering the comps earned. are they going to send you a gift card after the fact?

I don't think anyone would interpret either of my posts in this thread as a recommendation that people rush down to their local casino (TR or otherwise) and start playing for high stakes. It's a bad idea. I was just trying to point out that he may have earned something that could be used in Vegas since I believe it's a TR property.

He also might be able to call his PH host and say "hey, I lost $70k in Baltimore and got nothing thing out of it. I'm considering leaving Caesars properties for good after that beating. Is there anything you can do for me next time I'm there?". If he does that he may well get a gift card or some extra freeplay out of it.

Horseshoe is a Total Rewards bloodsucking property. They do have hosts that will probably be in touch but they are the most useless beings I have ever met.

Not my experience with the former Horseshoe Cleveland. From the winter of 2011 until summer 2013 Inreceived at least 15 comped trips. Host was very responsive. Suites at the Renaissance and Ritz Carlton, tix to the Cavs games and I was never denied printed Como vouchers for one of my favorite steakhouses, Hyde Park, across the street from the casino. Blue cheese crusted ribeye and martinis. Mailers averaged $450 per day in freeplay and $1000 upfront in chips. Most trips were 3 days with an 8-10k bankroll.

The hosts in Cleveland were far better than CET Vegas hosts. I haven't been back in awhile, so no comment on the hosts since the changes.

The best they have mustered here in Baltimore would be dinners, mediocre tickets to see the Orioles and stays at the local hotels (Holiday Inn Express to name one, not the Four Seasons or anything). The mailers have been decent but the hosts don't really have anything to do with them. These are evening trips with a 3-5K bankroll.

This is a friend not me. I am only Diamond, close to earning my Aspiration tier 2 trip. I have a host but I see no purpose for them.
