Start at $100, press on wins. Look for a nice streak.

The interesting thing about bacc is that once the cards have been shuffled and cut, all the outcome of all the hands that are played within that shoe are already predetermined. That is, there's nothing you or anyone else at the table can do to influence the outcome of the hands because of the mandatory card drawing rules that must be adhered to. Thus that 18 banker streak that you see on the monitor wasn't "luck" it was destined to happen.

Advice for your play a lot of times will start with … “It depends”:banghead:

It comes down to your risk tolerance and expectations. There’s no one right way to gamble.

If we are going to gamble anyways (everyone on this board!), I advocate being a more informed gambler. :bookworm:

Is the 1500 (1-2k) set aside for baccarat a session bankroll or trip bankroll to learn about bac? This affects your betting approach.

The MAJORITY of the fun in baccarat is the ability to touch the cards, squeeze, bend, and crush them (or watching others with super complex opening styles:LOL:). Depending on the casino, midi (touching cards) bac starts at 25 betting minimum. (50-100 is more of the standard).

Obviously winning is the most FUN. ;)

If it’s a trip bankroll for bac, bet between 25-100.

If it’s a session roll (meaning you will still play bac later if you bust this session), I recommend using 50 (30 betting units) as your starting bet and go from there. This will give you plenty of runway for playing time.

Bet 50 – if win, yay, bet 50 again. If you lose your initial bet, stay betting 50. Your goal is to try to win 3 hands in a row. Much easier said than done. And have fun of course.

If you get up 150. Maybe take a shot and bet 100- if you lose, you’re still up 50 and that would be your next bet. You have two shots playing with house money. Lessens the sting if you lose that first bigger bet.

If you get up 250. Bet 100 next time. If you lose, bet 100 again. If lose, back to betting 50.

When betting bigger than your starting base bet (50) with current profits, you won’t feel so nervous and afraid. It will enhance your enjoyment (maybe even book a big win) while at same time controlling your risk exposure.

Some gamblers have a great pressing mentality and thus able to book huge wins. Line of thinking goes like this for example… if up 250, they may bet 300. If they win, they’re up +550. If they lose, they’re down -50. So for that single bet, they are risking 50 to win 550 getting 11-1 on a coin flip proposition. Which is a very good gamble to take:wacky:

However this isn’t true, you can quit and cash out whenever you want so it’s still your money at risk. It’s a matter of creating a perception to raise your risk tolerance and get your gamble on.

The reason I suggest you keep your betting spread between 50-200 (1-4units) is because win or lose, the outcome of your session will be reasonable and you had a good time.

This controls your mental exposure for a reason. If you take a high-risk approach early in your bac experience and happen to book wins. Your expectations will become unrealistic and you lose perspective. If you lose early in your experiences by betting bigger and sporadic, you will risk exposing yourself to mental delusions by investing more money into it then necessary.

Hence a controlled betting discipline perspective will maintain the fun and prolong your baccarat experiences.

Inevitably, you will naturally bet bigger as you go, especially when wins pile up. It’s like a videogame and you’re leveling up!:p

Don't try to "time" the shoe. Don't jump back and forth unless it's a back and forth type of shoe. You don't know when a streak starts, continues or ends. A beginner player should just pick a side and bet that side throughout. Of course, if you see that it's predominant to other side, switching would be good. There's a lot of back and forth flow.

No one can give a specific strategy to play a shoe because every shoe will be different. Your best approach is to be flexible in your mindset.

No, wait... your best approach is to be LUCKY.

    Good Luck!

There's no right or wrong betting strategy in bacc (like a basic strategy in BJ). For some it's all about finding a streak, whether it's banker or player.
You should know, generally speaking, the card drawing rules favors the banker (slightly) that's why on most bacc tables, the house will take a 5% commission on banker wins.

Shifter's pic inspired me to take a pic of this shoe last night. Not allowed to take pics where I play but had to sneak this one.
Doesn't matter what your strategy is, everybody wins in this one. And if you pressed which many of us did, fortunes were made.
