HELP!!! My friend wants to do the Big Bus Tour. I have no desire whatsoever to do this.

How do I nicely convince her we don't want to do this?

I guess, but the purpose of the trip was for me to show her around. But I guess if she wants to go off on her own, I'm fine with that.

Lol! I convinced her that I will walk with her Sunday from Bellagio to Cosmo to Aria to Monte Carlo to NYNY to Mandalay to Tropicana to MGM to Planet Hollywood to Paris and to Ballys!

Rent a car and do your own tour, at your own pace.

Would a big bus tour be so bad? I know that all of us "do" Vegas differently, and that my beautiful bride completely tunes me out when I start talking Vegas (whether it is something that I read that is interesting, or something I want to do, etc). So on our last trip she wanted a bus tour.

At first I balked, but we did it and it was four hours of relaxing and letting someone else do the heavy lifting. We saw The Sign, the Bellagio Fountains, the Mirage Volcano, the Golden Nugget pool and the FSE show... all without me worrying about navigating, parking or pissing away money impulsively playing slots on the way in and out of each property.

Would I want to do it every trip? No, but on occasion its a harmless diversion that makes my travel companion happy. And as they say... "Happy wife, happy life!"

You can lead a horse to water ...

People find a way to vacation as they think they need to vacation, even with expert advice all wrapped up in a traveling companion. I remember SO many see-the-city seemingly all day bus or boat or whatever tours from back in the day when the 'rents were in charge, but that's not how we travel. (OK, it worked out in Sydney because that was an on/off, at-your-own-pace bus pass not some timed extravaganza with someone else in charge.)

The best advice you received here was, "Have fun, see you at ___ o'clock."
