Yeah if they're full value promo chips, nothing in this thread applies. BJ and Bacc are about as good as it will get for those. I have been running into alot of one-time use chips recently though, that's why I was looking into it.

Depends on the place. But even in that case you could go on like 1-18 and red or black at the same time and you would have 27 numbers covered to win at least 1 of your bets.

 

Ive wanted to do it with bacc but always was playing bj when using them besides once back during the meet up in april. Actually think its a better way to use them playing bacc.

LOL. I know.....it's easier to rub the slip of paper. A temporary blip. Pack the horseshoe for your July trip.

 

Match play is usually in the form of a coupon. You would be given the coupon(s) prior to playing. If you have a single $500 match play coupon that would mean you would have to put down $500 of your own cash on 1 bet along with the coupon, and if you win it you would win $1,000. More likely than not if a casino sent you a $500 match play offer they'll split it into several match play coupons, but you pick them up before you play, usually at the player's club desk. So if they give you 5 $100 match play coupons then when you go to the table you put down a $100 bet of your own with each coupon and you'd get $200 if you win.

The first few pages of the document I linked to in the first post of this thread tells you the ideal games on which to use match play. If I remember correctly it said the ideal bet for these was the Player bet on Baccarat if restricted to 1:1 bets (as is usually the case with match play). The math behind that is really interesting, since the Banker bet actually has a lower house edge...you can read the details in the paper if interested in knowing why, but suffice it to say that gambling math gets really bizarre when various incentives are injected into the games.
