    Trips to Vegas:
    4
    Hey everyone,

The wife and I and heading to Vegas on the 20th through the 23rd. Our first vegas trip together. **This is my 30th bday trip--bday on the 27th-- and we recently got married as well!! I've been to Vegas multiple times and she has only been once or twice, and when she went she didn't do much and didn't get to see a lot of things. So I'm asking for yalls help...

Here is what I have in mind so far--

Arrive in Vegas around 3 on Friday. Take uber/lyft to Bellagio so probably be there close to 3:30 3:45 is if everything goes smooth. What do y'all think the chances are getting a free upgrade at Bellagio? Definitely going to let them know it's my birthday trip and we just got married. Also will try the 20 dollar trick as well.

    Get settled.

She wants to check the pools out. I know they have heated pools at the Bellagio, but are they heated enough to swim in. Anybody been recently that knows?? The hot tubs are up and running, correct??

After that walk the strip and gamble and see the sights.

I've found a groupon (or another coupon site) for a food and drink deal and Marg Ville so might eat that for dinner..thoughts?? Any good??

She wants to see a show Friday night and I do as well, but tickets are so damn expensive. What are my options for decently priced tickets to shows such as KA, O, and the others?? Would be awesome if someone isn't using any show tickets that night and I could pick them up and will call. :)

Saturday will be a lot of walking and casino hopping. Which casinos right now are offering new players rewards?? She will sign up for players card along the way and I figure at some places she might be able to get something.

We also want to do the High Roller. I know there are places offering discounted tickets, but are there any discounted tickets once you get there...in any of the magazines or anything?? Next question is--do they have a screening process before you get on the ride?? Such as would they go through my wife purse or anything like that? Could we bring airplanes bottles in her purse and break those out instead of dong the bar cart?? Thoughts??

Saturday night I believe we might go to a club. We are both 30--I'm 29 but might as well be 30. I've always wanted to go to marquee at cosmo, but we will play that by ear. How is HYDE at the Bellagio..more laid back, less crowded??

Sunday will be relaxing day-- Reservations as Carbone since i've heard great things about the place. More sight seeing and gambling. I think we will make this our downtown day. Any cool and must hit spots downtown?? Great place to eat??

    Monday- heading home.

So that's all I can think of for now...I should be doing a trip report as well!!

    Thanks for all the help!!

Wow, lot of questions here. Let me see if I can help with a few...

Definitely try all the stuff you mention above, but please don't be disappointed if it doesn't work out. I think your chances are slim, given the CES convention will be taking place this week and I expect every hotel room on the Strip to be full.

The "Mystere" show at the TI is good and you might be able to get into it for less money/hassle. Again keep in mind the CES crowd. Try the last-minute ticket kiosk at the Fashion Show Mall.

Absolutely get her signed up for Mlife as soon as you check in at the Bellagio. Two people can share the same Mlife account, which Mrs. Tesla and I have done. If you guys split up to gamble you both earn comps for your action. It goes without saying to charge everything you spend to your room (you can do this at any MGM property) and use your card whenever you buy in to gamble, so you can max out your tier credits.

Let me know how Carbone is. :) I'm coming into town the week after you, and we're planning on eating there as well!

The Consumer Electronics thing is the 5th through the 8th so you should be ok with that. That's a zoo for rooms. Last year I checked in the day everyone was checking out from that and I had to wait hours for a room to be available because housekeepers were swamped.

If you are a CET Diamond, you can get 2 free tickets every month to something in Vegas, and the High Roller is almost always on the list.
It's been a while since I was on it but I don't remember being searched. They have a stand before you get on where they sell drinks so if you wanted a drink but didn't want to pay extra for the bar car then getting something from there to take on with you is also an option.
