Indeed, the prices are outrageous. There's also onstage seating that is even more.

must be slow selling. I received an offer for 2 comp tickets to Baz or Puppet up. offer good till September 30. not very enticing.
    Is 'Puppet up' any good?

Puppet Up doesn't open until next month but the LA version was hilarious. DEFINITELY not for kids AT ALL.
Also, I'm going to a private preview showing of Baz tomorrow night & will share my thoughts.

Saw Baz last night. Amazing singers, especially the girl playing the Angel/Juliet role. Cool staging w/video projection strips ringing the room. The cast spends about half the time out in the audience singing & dancing in the (very wide) aisles, very up close & personal. Some of the audience seating is actually right up on the stage itself. The music was snippets of at least 50 songs strung together to support the story lines. Story lines revolved around 3 couples: Romeo & Juliet, Gatsby & Daisy, and I couldn't figure out who the 3rd couple was supposed to be. Live band was pretty good, I recognized the drummer from a local favorite band (Santa Fe and the Fat City Horns). It was a bit disconcerting how the musical mood kept making giant swings from upbeat/energetic to tear jerking ballad, back and forth all night. On the way in we were greeting with a "please no photography and specifically no posting of pictures to social media". Show ran close to 2 hours. The host/MC character was larger-than-life and added a comedic flair, keeping things moving. Still I would not be surprised if they shave 10-15 minutes before the grand opening. Fortunately the seats are very wide and comfortable, firmly padded and there was a mix of big lounge chairs and very long bench-style sofas. I didn't see any flip-up traditional theatre type seats (yay!).

    TL;DR:
Worth a see. Music has something for everyone. Endless rapid-fire cycling of very different musical styles was jarring at times. Big comfortable seats. Talent of the cast was very evident.

Ah. I never saw Moulin Rouge so that makes sense. Thanks!
