Decided on Monday to pull the trigger and head back to Vegas to get away from work and treat myself since my birthday is on 7/11 and I was born here.

I was out here in May 2015 with my wife and have been having serious withdrawals since then. She couldn't come out due to work so I decided to take advantage of an offer from Aria and hopefully break my losing streak here. Used Sky Miles and booked 1st class out from ATL.

Went in to work on Thursday and took care of a few things before heading to the airport. Ended up grabbing something at Papi's in T terminal before the flight. Flight was pretty uneventful and ended up using Uber for the first time. I highly recommend it.

Got checked in and decided to get on the 1-3 NL list. Had an up and down night and ended up down $116 when I racked up at 2:30am. Had quite a few VRBs and was at a table with some good people. Biggest hand of the night was when I lost a flopped but straight to a flush for about a $600 pot.

Thought about playing some blackjack but decided I should go to sleep since I'd been up for about 24hrs. I think this is literally the first time I've ever skipped playing table games on the first night.

So I get back to the room around 3am and am up by 6am...only in Vegas! Realize I forgot toothpaste (not sure how in the fuck I did with everything else I brought) and wander to CVS.

I decide to play blackjack after that. There's only one double deck on the main floor with a $100 min and take out a marker for $1000.

I play $100/hand and double the bet after I win two in a row. Slightly ahead for the first couple decks and then hit one where I don't think I lost a hand! End up building my stack until another guy sits down and brings death to the table. End up coloring up for $6050!! Dealers (Neil/Gene) were also making out as I kept betting greens for them when we were pressing.

It feels nice to start a trip up. At Aria Cafe grabbing something to eat since I skipped out last night.

 

I also realize I need to post some pics. I'm a TR noob so I'll figure it out. Figure I owe back as I enjoy reading everyone else's. Was going to take a pic of the chips but forgot until I was at the cage and they were paying me. She told me I could take them away from the counter but figured i didn't want to look like the Asian tourist...LOL.

Had $150 in Freeplay ($100 for birthday and $50 from MyVegas). Decided to try a $5 Top Dollar. $160 in and out $95. Better than last year when I turned $400 into nil.

Btw the marketing offer I took was 3 nights and $200 f&b. Definitely not the best offer but the suite offer I had was blacked out for all locations. Ended up with a King Deluxe which works for me.
