For my upcoming trip in a couple of weeks I actually have back to back reservations at Cosmo. One part of the trip is booked on an offer and the other booked using my Gold status nights. If I do room charges like normal when should I go talk with the host on duty? As each reservation technically ends or on the final day before I catch my flight?

I would reach out to a host on the first day.

Let him know the situation and go from there.

The answer to this is to do it the morning of a reservation ending. They will charge the credit card then.

Also if you're concerned about earning tier points for room charges the points go to who the room is booked under and not the credit card. That was an unclear point before as last year I booked a casino rate for a friend and caught the windfall of points.

    Agree with shifter.

I'm doing something similar on my long stay in June. I wanted to lower gambling pressure, so staying 2 platinum nights, then 2 paid (casino rate), then my normal 5 comped nights. I didn't ask my host about that detail yet, so interested in what you find out. I was going to wait until I got there or ask her in a few weeks when I see her :)

I didn't bother to consult directly with my host. I knew we'd only gamble just enough to cover the room marketing offer. I have had my host comp charges after a check out has gone through but that was a bit of a hassle of numerous credit card holds and took several days for it to all clear. Also it caused me to end up with negative Identity points. I got Identity credits for the purchases which was then used to help clear my bill. Well when they got cleared and everything settled, I had -4000 Identity points for a time.

That sounds messy! She often clears what she can when I leave or when she's in after a stay. Fortunately, the delay doesn't bother me and I usually blow my identity points on freeplay. ;)

I'll probably check with her on my convoluted mess in a few weeks :) thanks for responding!

I found out the only points you can redeem for free play are ones earned gambling. So I end up with a number of points from spends as I can't get everything comped. The points from spending can only be used as comps. I may have a "free" massage in my future.
