At least when compared to blackjack, p.g. poker, poker, etc.

There is a certain energy and a most certain truth to the game.

The game has a life of its own.

It cannot be changed, it cannot be told what to do.

It runs through fields, climbs hills, rests, drifts down hills, rests once again and then just might take off in strictly one direction and at the end of its pre-decided/pre-destined run, turn right back around and make an equal run the opposite way.

Most of all the game has no memory.

Straightaways, winding hallways, plateaus and mountains. The game will decide when the cards are put into the shoe where it is going to go and what will happen. The trick for the players, which so few have really figured out, is to drive the road as it is presented.

The game of Baccarat at times resembles personal relationships. Loving you or hating you. Giving you chances and only compromised by your own bad judgment or perhaps your influenced judgment by other people. Once again the game tried to offer you chances to reconcile but to your own revengefulness or stubbornness, you financially and emotionally get hurt at times. But in your quest for smooth sailing and reaching that pot at the end of the proverbial rainbow, you continue with hopes of marrying Baccarat's 'lady luck'.

Other card games are just card games, numbers and win or lose decisions. Doesn't really matter how it comes out, no one generally can track anything near the monumental 'proverbial' meaning of the cards within a baccarat game. Baccarat is an adventure, a sexual bliss, a mystery defined to many and so misunderstood by the masses. Baccarat is a unique and adventure sucking game that will likely always remain just that.

I don't think Baccarat is any different than other games such as Roulette or Craps, where each hand, spin, or roll is truly independent of the prior ones.
What you get with these games is a view of the natural phenomenon of Randomness. Just as you see peaks and valleys when you go to the Grand Canyon, you will see "peaks and valleys" as you follow the random pattern of the outcomes in these games of chance.
How big the peaks and how low the valleys will depend on how you play the games. For example, if you just play a single number in Roulette, you are going to have a lot of small losses before you hit a winner, or even back to back winners, which will be a big peak.
The huge rush comes when you think you have identified a pattern, and that pattern actually happens!

The only real entertainment value in Baccarat is watching the Asian players sizing their bets (at the last second, waiting for everyone else to go first) so that they can bet the most and still fold/spindle/mutilate the cards.

I'll play $15 a hand on a coin flip to watch the Asians play.

From what I have gathered it seems that baccarat is more of a sickness then anything else.

Last time we were there, they were doing the same thing at Potawami.
