Though that's the point I try and tell people, the human mind is meant to recognize patterns and it is so easy after the fact. While in the middle of playing the shoe, it can go either way and still make a recognizable pattern after the fact...I hope I'm coming across clearly...lol

All if those patterns and lines are a mind fu**. Thats why they have all those lines and patterns. They are meant to confuse the player. But we all follow them one way or another.

Yep that's the double edged sword.

You're following one pattern that isn't there and missing another that actually is there.

    All too easy.

Shifter, I have only played Baccarat once, and it was to help out a friend at the time who didn't realise he was playing with real money chips that was given to him by a group of my Singaporean friends. I vouched for the chips and basically sat down and clawed the loss back over 4 hours at that table. I'm not going to say it was fun.

The other time I have watched baccarat, and it was at the Galaxy Casino in Macau. My friends came in on a junket group and it was a private room off the main casino floor. They basically cashed in for HK$500,000 each. I then proceeded to watch them bet Banker, Player and switch it around to try and win. I watched them lose what must have been over 15 hands in a row.... They bought back in at least twice. It was me that got up in total disgust and reach for my friends room key to go upstairs to sleep. I couldn't believe what i had just watched. They all blew the lot. They later bought back in even more and played another game and won back half their bankroll. The odds on that happening in Baccarat is ridiculous. But it's possible. That idea in the Gambler's Fallacy of "it's got to come up now because it's due" must have played into this, but when you also consider switching took place as well, only to lose again...Man that is rough.

I didn't even play Craps that evening. I was totally put off with what I had witnessed.

Only goes to show that money management is totally the key, and when you've lost a number of rolls/hands, you've got to ask yourself what you're doing sitting or standing at the tables. Oh yes...they switched tables as well.

Nicely written. I would have to agree with this observation. In Macau, you can pass tables (on the way to the solitary craps table) that have a viewing 4 people deep behind every player, with all other tables empty. As you pass that table, you can literally cut the atmosphere with a knife. You can feel the tension. It sounds crazy, but it's absolutely true. In Macau, they let the player with the highest stake usually draw the cards, and when they are hot, I don't usually see others betting against them. They all switch to the same line and you can hear the theories abound. This is about real gambling. Real James Bond stuff. It's more than probability and house edge. It's why we all presumably gamble?!! Why else would we all participate in a negative expectation activity?!!!
