I vote NO mankinis or speedos -- Although this guy looks like he is having fun. Good for him not caring a damn about what people think.

Holy crap....Are you smartone from the other board? You are 58 years old and 305 pounds and are an internet tough guy telling me that if I don't want to have the Cosmo keep me awake for 72 hours then I'm "too old"?

You're giving me shit for not having super-human endurance? Can you even walk a fucking mile?

    Amazing.

This is very helpful- thank you!

I would like to lose 12lbs more. I have been losing weight for about 4 months now. My problem is I work from home. I used to be so skinny before I started working from home. It has been bad for me. What has helped me is eating more good fat (coconut oil, nuts, avocado, etc) and protein- this makes me so much less hungry. I stay away from bread, most dairy, and sugar. I also try to eat organic if at all possible.

One thing I've found is that once you get into the habit of eating less -- and I'm talking mostly volume here, a fistful of Oreos will obviously contain far more calories than the same quantity of salad -- it gets easier to avoid the buffets, the large appetizer before the large entree, etc. I don't exercise nearly as much as I should (although I do walk about a mile and a half to and from work each day, which my doctor tells me "doesn't count" but I consider that to be bullshit), and while I do try to head to the gym when I can, just eating less food is a huge benefit to my weight. Trying to eat healthier foods when I can definitely helps, too; you'll never see me eating quinoa, but things like ground turkey instead of beef, or having a good tuna steak for dinner, are decent alternatives.

That said, I'd worry much more about your overall health than strictly your weight. Obviously if someone is 5'6 and 400 pounds they have a pretty significant problem, but weight/size on its own isn't determinative.

Also, alcohol kills germs. And nothing you eat in Vegas counts.

Why does your doc say that doesn't count? It counts to me!

Because they consider "exercise" to be "time dedicated to exercise" as opposed to just getting from one place to another. Which I get as a general definition; if you're living in the suburbs, the few feet you spend walking to/from your car isn't really exercise. But I really do think my mile-and-a-half to and from work should count, and I count it accordingly. Especially during weeks like this when it's 800% humidity on the East Coast and I'm losing half my body weight just sweating into my suit.
