well, actually, it will be a lot faster than that.

but I just started planning an around the world journey for next spring.

it all started because my cousin and her family will be in Taipei next spring for work. we've been talking about a trip to Asia for years, so I said, hell, that's a good excuse as any to finally make it over there and see them and let @natedog666 take us out to dinner. :p

but that's literally half way around the world from the east coast. so once you fly all the way there, you might as well fly around the other way back home and visit some other locations rather than backtracking on the same flights.

I have a couple million points/miles across several programs, so my plan is to use miles/points for all flights and hotels so there's close to no out of pocket cost other than food and fun. the other point of the trip is to experience Suites on Singapore Air.

so right now the tentative plan is to fly to LAX on Delta's 777 flight and visit some family.

then on to Toyko via Singapore Suites. maybe stay there a night or two and then on to Taipei business class via some local airline.

stay there for a few days visiting everyone and then from Taipei to Singapore business class on another local airline.

stay there a night or two, visit the casinos and then on to Paris via Singapore Suites.

stay there and just relax for a few days and then Paris back home on Delta's 767 with lie flat beds.

we're also talking about a possible side roundtrip Singapore to Auckland on Singapore Suites for a few days in Oz. we really want to go to NZ and being so close it's hard to pass up. but adding more time on to an already long trip, so that may wait for its own trip another time.

I'll post updates here in this thread as I get flights and hotels booked and how many points/miles it cost me from which program if you're into the travel game.

no way too much flying in 1st or business class I hate those flights. I use to fly to Beijing and Shanghai in Business Class. NO Way I'm doing this unless I have to.

But Shifter. Have a great trip and meet up with natedog and superpocky in Taiwan. Great food in Taipei MBS in Singapore sounds like your speed.

LOL i'm saying i'd rather stay home.

Kill me before I fly coach on an international flight.

Funny I would drive from Dallas to the Beau then fly an international flight. I guess i don't like being in a plane longer than 3 hours.
