As I wallow in my misery and pout on a Monday afternoon I had to figure that many others have been in this situation.

I had four nights comped at Bellagio July 4-8 and flight was paid for. A couple friends literally messaging me from Caesars Palace as they checked in yesterday. But as a result of some losing trips and other small but simultaneous costly events, I will not be getting on a plane to Vegas later this afternoon and checking into the Bellagio tonight.
Despite meeting friends there for a couple days (friends of Macker and myself) I will still essentially be alone for four nights. Drunk and alone in Vegas is a recipe for losing $$$$ for this guy. I'd be okay during the day at the pool and bumming around. At night though with all the fun starting, I know nothing good would happen and I would gamble up a storm.

Now lest I whine like a little bitch too much, I am going with gf in a couple weekends. As I'm sure it is with most of you, going with a partner ensures more non gambling activities and less likelihood of losing. We are doing a couple shows and some dinners etc. If I go alone, or with the boys, it is nothing but hookers, blow, drinking, and generally ill advised actions.

So my flight is non refundable but it was only $200. I'm only giving up $50 in freeplay and food credit here. It is simply the fact that I had Bellagio free for four nights that is killing me because that doesn't happen for me very often. In fact, it hasn't happened in years! And so....today...I am whiny. But, better to lose that $200 on the flight than what the alternative likely would be. I haven't been overly lucky the last few trips and when I am lucky, I haven't shown the prudence to lock down a win very often! Macker can attest to that.

Anyone else been in this yucky situation of having to cancel a kick ass trip or bow out for something?

And thank you for your support in my hour of need.

If anyone can convince me to go....my flight is still reserved and doesn't depart until 8:43!!!! :)

OMG. Go. Don't bring any cash and cards downstairs at night. Just bring an ID and like $100 for drinking. And don't do any blow. If you can just drink, you will be ok. Can you give your wallet to the most responsible person in your group?

Or drink so much at the pool during the day that you just pass out as soon as you get into your room.

Gaggles - you know what the response from this board will be - ya big pussy!

I was in a similar situation last trip - however, suffering from illness and solo. I ended up doing some laid back things that I normally would not do necessarily with a buddy trip - things such as 12 hour poker sessions, spa appointments, 25 cent VP, higher-end meals, shows, sportsbook and horse betting.

Gambling budget was reduced however still had a good time. Also had extra data to update folks at home more regularly.

Add some of the 'never-got-around-to' things - even though you've been there over 100 times you may find something else (I'm around 50 and still find interesting things).

Eggo here the king of waffling.

I've eaten lots of RT tickets to Vegas Missed gambling with PT natedog broncofn and others. Suites booked and comp

I know what the others are saying to take 100 and ID only. Never happens that is all you play in Vegas. For a degen. It is just not going to happen to be in Vegas and not gamble.

I feel your pain. I missed this weekend too and the weekend before. And the weekend before that.

Playing small only pisses you off if you hit the 4OAKS and royal flush. And playing the same level. Can drain your funds. So no hookers and blow.

I understand why you are not going since others won't be there and the potential hit to wallet is great but degens have very little self control in Vegas

My days of jumping on the plane last min have passed

I had a flight booked for Sat and returned on Tuesday with taking a PTO day at work but I didn't fly out
So I'm going to sit at home drink peach Ciroc And watch some fireworks tonight in the big D Instead of going.

Check the post and see who else is in Vegas now and maybe catch the flight. But leave the ATM and credit cards at home.

Interesting Dilemma buddy. We both know vegas is built on losers so maybe you are having an unrealistic expectation on how much you are losing down there. VP can be a cruel hoar and expectation from the big hands are never realized if you don't hit one. I think bowing out of a trip is good to give the mind a break and next trip you will be back to the gangur everyone loves down there.

I may have to cancel next week's trip because I have to give my sister money to pay her property tax, utility and wifi bills and plumbing bill, so it's pretty fucking hard for me to feel sorry for your fucking petty ass bullshit.

Dad/daughter trip to Vegas/LA completed last weekend. In lieu of Vegas in less than two weeks, this trip seemed excessive!
