Great to meet you and play craps with you. You made me some money when you rolled at the MGM crap shoot. Hope to play with you again in the future.

I echo those sentiments voiced here about how great this TR has been. Much props to you for sticking with keeping us informed through the good and the bad. I know nothing we say will take away the sting of a loss but you should know as degens we've all been there.

I wish you good luck on your cruise. What date are you leaving? My gf and I are booked on an NCL cruise leaving NYC to Bermuda on 7/10.

Pretty close! I think we get in on the 12th July for a 14th sailing on RCCL. It does go through to Bermuda on its first stop but it's only a day.

Regarding my Vegas trip, I don't mind losing actually (subject to lots of things here including keeping to bankroll limit). I do mind losing like a bum. Only 3 days of 16 I played like a bum with no limit. Those 3 days cost me my bankroll. And I didn't enjoy playing any of those 3 days.

Hey Craps_Player, do you set dice or try influence at all? I used to be quite the skeptic, but now practice religiously. Makes a difference in the long run.

    Thanks

Hello David. OK, it's a fair question to ask. The answer is that I set the dice to 5:5 with the 1:1 facing me when throwing. I only do this if I haven't lost badly the previous time. Why? Why not!! Many craps players have their own routine when it comes to throwing the dice. In fact, many players have their own habits with respect to how other throw the dice (taking bets off, turning bets on and off if something happens, not betting at all until the shooter can sting together a run of 6+ rolls without throwing a 7...and so on). I hate seeing a 7 on the dice when presented to me. The 7 can appear on any of the face combinations of the dice (forward, on top - though very rare for the stickman to give a 7 to a shooter - so it's mostly a seven on the dice facing the shooter. That's why I like to set the dice to get rid of the 7 number from the combination showing.

Now, you mention it makes a difference in the long run. That's absolute bollocks. I think what it does is makes us feel better. The dice are absolutely random when thrown down the table and hit the back wall. Yes...I've read lots of books and online information regarding the Dominator and other players who think they can influence the dice. It's utter crap. It's like telling everyone that you can influence the spin of the roulette ball. If you could do that, then it would make the heist at the Bellagio (dealer and player making late 'hop bets') look like amateurs. Imagine you could influence dice or a roulette ball. Imagine the dealer and player working together to take advantage of that. It would be so easy to load up on number at the roulette wheel to cover a small segment and hit it big. For Dice, it would be so easy to allow the player to throw in a way that guarantees specific numbers (or not a 7...which is the easiest number to roll through normal probability).

I'd LOVE to believe that I could influence the dice. I'd love to believe that I could control the absolute physics of what happens to a pair of die when they are in the air. In the long run, if we play this game, we will lose against the casino, because it's a matter of probability. The chance we have to win is based on a variance, and catching it. Better craps players know how to limit losses when the dice are producing numbers not favourable to the player's strategy, and know when to press and capture a variance and a fast win. However, the casino WILL grind you down and WILL take your money, eventually. The Vegas strip is proof of that. Macau is proof of that. The fact that less people are playing now means that the strip needs to find other ways to generate revenue. It's not because they are losing at the gaming tables, nope - they have that one covered rather nicely. It's because less people are playing, which means the house isn't getting their cut.

So, I'm sorry to say that I don't agree with your idea that you can influence the dice. Absolutely not. If you could, the casino would have shut this game down years ago. And roulette. Blackjack can be influenced by predicting cards based on the previous cards pulled from the deck. But the casino's added decks, and then introduced constant shuffle machines to break that.

The only way you can really take on the casino at Craps is by playing pure odds - which means playing only point, maxing the odds to reduce the house edge to it's very smallest (like 0.6%) and not playing anything else greater than 1.52% odds against you (which means only 6 and 8). If everyone played like that, then I doubt casinos would pull craps tables from their floor as well, as the cost of running the table would not be viable.

I don't do that. I go hell for leather! I love the game, and I'm looking for the rush of the great roll. But I'm afraid that no person can come up to me and tell me that they can throw the dice and not produce a 7 at will, on a standard craps table.

I don't believe in dice influencing either.

I just want to say that when we were playing at PH one night, you had a very long roll and made a lot of numbers. I wasn't watching you to see if you were setting the dice in any particular way. Your tosses were absolutely random. A hard toss, spinning dice, banked off a couple walls. I've rolled for 50 minutes doing the same.

So no, I don't believe in dice influence.

I set the dice to show 66, and then rub my hands on the felt before tossing them. Why? To eat up time, which increases my theo.
