I'm starting this post early, just so I can be included in the 'lucky draw' ! I have been coming to Vegas for 20 years now, and it's never lost that edge for me. I've seen changes, new hotels, the closure of others, and a change in the way the strip operates. I still love the feeling, the excitement, and the thrill that it's a place where I can potentially leave with more cash than I brought.

My flight will leave from Taiwan on the 10th, and I'll arrive on the 10th in Vegas, via Hong Kong, Los Angeles and then Vegas. I'm planning to drop my bags off at the Monte Carlo Suite and then scoot over to where Hobofrank (from Vegas Boards Site) wants to meet me (Cosmo or Planet Hollywood Casino). I'll begin my Craps journey from there!

The anticipation building up to the trip is wonderful. Perhaps it's what I really look forward to every year. The problem is that I've been hit badly over the last 3 years (entire bankroll).

This year I want to change that. I want to be in control. I want to be able to leave a table on a whim. I do not want to feel pressured that I must play in order to rack up my hours to cover my comps. I want the 3 stacks of high society to count this year.

I'll share the moments of my wins, losses, mistakes, jubilations, and triumphs with you. Perhaps through a live thread, you can keep me on the straight and narrow....

Yes, I've lived in HK now for about 16 years. Moved over from London. Craps scene in Macau....Well...it's like this:

There's bugger all tables in most of the casinos. The following Casinos have ONE table:

    Venetian (HK$300 minimum)
The Plaza Casino (4 Seasons Hotel) HK$200 minimum - used to be HK$500 minimum
MGM (HK$200 minimum) - awful table
Holiday Inn Casino (it's called Himalayan Gaming, but who is honestly going to remember that) HK$200 minimum
City of Dreams (HK$100 minimum Monday to Thursday, HK$200 minimum Weekends)
And that's it.....out of all the casinos who turnover 7-8 times that of Vegas gaming.

Galaxy Casino (which now houses 5 large hotels internally) had a smaller table (only one) but it was removed last year when a guy walked in, played on it and took HK$8m from the table in a few hours. It was literally taken away as soon as the guy finished his roll.

Like Singapore (and Australia, and London for that matter), whenever I go (not often), I notice the same people playing on the tables (firstly, they are truly regular. Secondly, there are so few tables available, where else would the players go).

Macau is aimed at the Baccarat players.

Good luck. Hope you get off to a fast start. I can't imagine the swings of a two week trip.
