I want to buy Grosjeans book. Not that I'd probably ever try to apply it, but it would be an interesting read during those 5 hours flights. Anyone have it or read it yet?

I wonder what the hourly take is for these guys. Btw the losing sessions and all the planning and all the different people needed, I wonder if its worth it. Probably beats sitting at some desks or digging ditches but some of these guys have impressive degrees and credentials. You might think they could make more money in a more conventional manner

I read in the article that he only sells the book to people he knows BUT seems like a lot of trouble to go through editing and publishing whether through a publishing company or self publishing to rarely sell a book. The guy is about making money and seems counter productive. I'm wondering if you can find it somewhere though bootleg even?

 

heather... I've seen it using a torrent search... not that I would ever advocate that anyone engage in any sort of illegal downloading...

 

SUPER late to this party...but...

This kind of thing was popular among high stakes online poker players. There were a couple of "books" written that they would sell to aspiring mid stakes guys for $1000+. The justification was that the $1000 price tag was worth it if you were playing at a high enough level where applying the content would boost your win rate that much and more.

As was said elsewhere...Torrenting exists...im not in any way advocating that, but its a thing...thats out there...in the world...and you should be aware of such things from a strictly educational point of view.

 

Obviously jumping in late also, but I'm a frequent lurker on 2+2. For those not aware, it's a poker forum (and poker book publisher). There are a lot of former poker pros (either online or live) who think they should be able to succeed in any job because they are good at poker. When you read their posts, you know that they really don't have what it takes. Either they dropped out of college and are unemployable in the jobs they want, or they quit decent jobs because they couldn't hack a standard routine. Some of these guys think that they should start a business so they can be their own boss. They don't understand that this means they are now working for the one boss that always knows when they are dicking off.
