Well since we are all talking baccarat for a change, I have to throw in something I never ever figured out. I doubt there is a 'real' answer, just one of the quirks of the game. The same as the other I throw out there with the 'cooler' type of dealers that does exist at most properties.

Another thread talked about players squeezing the cards, peeking-looking-superstitions-etc. Well, I can remember plenty of times where I was high wagering player on whichever side and dealer slides the cards to me to reveal. Each and every time, boom-lose. At times, there seems to be a player, usually wagering a very small amount--close to table minimum, and when that player touches the cards---magic.

I will slide them the cards to turn over, I am not proud, I want to win. Some how and whatever the answer is, if there is one no one can explain it, it works at times. I have won a shit load of wagers at times, using this high-tech super secret strategy!

But the cards don't change, so should not matter who turns them over?

Absolutely, come with all the reasoning and all the common sense.

Same as the potential comebacks about the dealers that 100% are your proverbial 'coolers', no burn card, no optional decisions by players to pull or don't pull cards, etc.

It happens, sometimes often during a night and at other times, not.
