11:30 PM, and I just got into Reno. Massive limo taking me up to South Lake Tahoe. Should get to the hotel by 1 AM, I need to head back out Sunday morning around 10 AM

I flew in for my good buddies 50th birthday bash. High school friend. He lives in Tahoe and worked for the casinos for about 15 years. He quit earlier this year.

Staying at Harrah's, but I'm not sure that I'll get in too much gambling – a few hours at most.

Don't expect much from this trip report – perhaps a few posts. I asked for just a plain old room, but the host said he'll make sure I have a nice view. So I'll try to send a nice picture of the lake tomorrow when it's light out.

Expecting snow at the higher elevations. Weather forecast is a bit crazy – Highwind warnings, flash flood warning's...

 

Play for 2 hours in the high limit room. Friendly folks – nice dealer, nice pit boss, and some nice guys at the table with me.

There were two 2-deck pitch games open, and one shoe game that was full. Played at the two deck table, but never bothered to ask the rules. Turns out they sucked pretty bad – no respite, only double on 8, 9, 10 or 11, dealer hits on a soft 17.

But it all worked out – in for 5K, out for 11.5K.

I was in Lake Tahoe in April and will return in December. Had some good luck in the HL room playing bacc; great staff and dealers. Turned my last $400 into $22k (see my avatar).
